Rainbowy

Cookie-decorating

Some professors seem to do everything, including organizing and baking bins and bins of cookies for a departmental cookie-decorating party! Not complaining over here...

Poor (wo)man's fare

Sometimes nak yang simple saja - rice, fried egg, and baked beans. :)

#2

My first garter stitch scarf has been completed and is keeping someone's neck nice and warm now :) So excited to start my second knitting project - a ribbed scarf!

Big Chill

5K is not as far as I thought; jog-walking that is, not running.

P.S. Progress on the scarf! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Preparing to make cranberry sauce.

Part of the dessert table, with contributions from W's sister (lemon poppyseed cakes), LY (cheesecake) and Elijah's Promise's Community Supported Bakery (pumpkin pie). Not seen are a GIANT chocolate/chocolate mousse cake brought by C, and homemade cake balls by J.

We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner! There was a lot of running around and not enough picture-taking (these two were the only ones I took!) Thank you to those who helped with cooking, providing dessert and alcohol, and who showed up to get the party going! <3

Let's do this again next year~

Three days in one post

Today
J left me a plant before she left the lab. The leaves sparkle!*

Last Sunday

Where did the Summer go?

A couple of scenes from the coastal base where Cape Coast Castle stands in Elmina, Ghana. Yes, there will be more pictures... eventually.

The summer has been eventful, and still much too short. Nevertheless, new adventures beckon this semester! :)

Shooting with Friends

Archery at Wa-Xo-Be. (Taken with a friend's camera phone.)

Shooting with a right-handed bow when I should've been using a left-handed one. I'm still fascinated by the fact that I'm a lefty archer and a righty everything else.

Cannot wait to go back!

Work + Play

We've made many trips to Yakitori Taisho, NYC (seriously, we need to find a new favorite, hehe) but this was our first time at the "bar".

Unagi tofu dish. That's all I snapped before we dug into this, a dish of balsamic duck steak slices, and a special rice dish, plus Sapporo (Kirin for him) beer. :)

NOT the last of it

Snow in March - absolutely ridikkulus! (In fact, we had another brief snowfall about a week later.)

PA wanderings

Cute little shop in Easton, PA where we got "carmelcorn", two kinds of licorice (yummy!), Irish potatoes, and Pop Rocks (haven't seen that since I was a kiddo!) Yes, all bad for you...

"Horehound" candy? I don't know what that is.

Then, we hopped across the street to the Crayola store, where ML picked out a can of crayons for me from their weird, wonderful selection. <3

I was craving sausages and when we saw the sign outside Castle Grill for kielbasa sandwiches, we had to stop. This sign was inside Castle Grill. We should've taken it as an omen...

I'm never coming back here again. :p Clockwise from top: hunter's stew, kielbasa sandwich, two stuffed cabbages (yeechhh...) and potato pierogies. All "from the homeland," so they claim.

PA is interesting :D
